Damson - Farleigh

from £45.00

Description:Farleigh is one of the heaviest cropping varieties. Good quality crop of small fruits with a blue-black bloom. Sweet and juicy! Known to be very hardy and most likely to crop regularly in northern districts. Beautiful white flowers during the spring. Suitable for the small garden due to it's naturally compact growth.

History:Originated from Farleigh, Kent, UK in 1820. Found growing wild by Mr Crittenden and later introduced by nurserymen. Like many damsons it was often used as an orchard windbreak in the past. Recieved an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2000.
